Pokemon Sapphire, My First Nuzlocke: Route 120 & 121

So with a new gym badge on hand, I began my adventure down route 120. While there wasn't too many trainers of issues, that one lady with a Milotic certainly gave me some trouble, I actually had to use a bunch of healing items to make sure no one died in that fight... if only I actually led the battle with Funghiness. But how was I suppose to remember that an ordinary trainer would have a Pokemon like that? Also no new wild Pokemon for a very long time because of how long route 120 was and how it got wasted on a Linone...

You know what I was just saying about route 120 being long? Well, apparently it wasn't as long as it looked. Especially if you're dodging all the trainers you can for the sake of your Pokemon's safety. But now that I'm in route 121 maybe I can catch something cool? What do you know? Next step I take after that I run into a wild Pokemon.... and its a Shuppet. I was able to weaken it with Zip'd and actually catch it. But what to call it? After much thinking and failing to come up with names that relate to dark cold or miserable cold feelings I decided just to call it sullen. After all, it is a negative feeling, which Shuppets feed off of. Into the PC for now Sullen, but it was still nice to catch you neverless, I may need you for the future.

Before I head off to use my free heal, I come across team Aqua, who are talking about doing things over at Mt. Pyre. So that's a place to check out in the future. Dodging the rest of the trainers on this route for now, I finally made it to Lilycove City. With a free heal for reaching the town and a free heal for catching a Pokemon, plus potions being cheap to me at this point of the game and having the ability to fly to a town that sells them if I run out of them for my Potion for Pkm Center rule, I think I can go back and battle all the trainers I avoided before without worry.

Pokemon Sapphire, My First Nuzlocke: Weather Institute & Gym Leader Winona

So I cleared the Weather Institute.  No problems, not even with the Admin. The only story even worth telling was I gave Sheocka a prism berry because I couldn't remember if she had a Zubat/Golbat or not. On her last Pokemon I decided to let Sheocka stay in to Thunder Wave it, just to be on the safe side and her Pokemon Swagger me. Giving me a free attack boost due to the prism berry. So Sheocka swept the admin all by herself, 'cause who am I to turn down a gift horse. What is more worth mentioning though is now I get my own Castform! This thing is easily one of my favorite 3rd gen. Pokemon right with Aron. Not sure if I want to use it on my pretty established and train team or not though.

Up ahead, I find May around the place and we fight. It wasn't really much trouble at all. For each of her Pokemon I had a Pokemon that countered it pretty well. Beating her earned me the HM for fly. Fly is decent but its not as good as I remember it being. It's only slightly stronger than Wing Attack and takes two turns, granted with a few exceptions I'm invulnerable to attacks so in those cases it's like a 1 turn move that takes more of my time. I'll hold off until after I get the badge that lets me use it outside of battle because if it wasn't for it's convince in traveling, I wouldn't be teaching it to Hurrcane ever to be honest. Wing Attack is already pretty good in comparison.

With that I make it to Fortree City and begin exploring. I can't get into the gym quite yet, so I just explored around town and got the Hidden Power TM. Want to teach it to someone but don't know who has what type of Hidden Power so maybe I'll play around with that later. So onwards to route 120. A new route with new Pokemon and new possibilities to widen the variety on my team... and it's a Linone... well, technically since Mr. Pickup isn't evolved that's a new Pokemon so I I caught it. I'm calling it Lucy because it's a girl and there was something lucky about it... probably that it should be lucky I actually bother to catch it. Probably should of just waited and caught that Kelcon in that scripted fight, but no, I had to knock it out.

Well at least I can go to the gym now, but 2 of my party members are weak to flying types so they'll need to sit this gym out... and I have a lot of Pokemon that are weak to flying sitting in PC... best two I have are my new Castform and Lady Tenti so I gotta train them up to be close to the rest of my team in case I need them. That could take awhile. Also the reason I haven't gave Castform a nickname yet is because it joined me without giving me the option to give it a nickname. So I got to backtrack all the way to the name rater to take care of that as well. So after making it back to the name rater I name my Castform Nimbus, after the type of cloud because that's the only cloud name I can come close to spelling on my own.

Since I was all the way at Slateport with plenty of money to spare, I decided to buy 2 Irons and 2 HP Ups for Nimbus to help make him into something useable without dieing in battles. What disappoints me most about Castform is that it's one of those Pokemon who really need an evolution. It's got a cool concept but it just doesn't seem to have the stats to back it up. Since this is the main game maybe it'll be able to hold it's own though? I hope. I also withdrew all my Rare Candies so I can use some of them to speed up the level-up process but not until I battle with them a bit first so the level ups are more worthwhile. So a little training later, Nimbus learned Weather Ball and Lady Tenti evolved into a Tentatcruel. I used a few of my PP ups ...well up to increase the PP of Weather Ball since it's pretty low for a move only slightly more powerful than Powder Snow. Actually, just looked it up on Bulbapedia and it increases to a base power of 100 in the weather, I just had a feeling it changed base power somewhere. For some reason I thought it was more powerful in the sun.

So I decide to finally head to the gym. Getting through the gym trainers and puzzles wasn't much of a problem. Even Nimbus and Lady Tenti were able to handle them, no problem. So I got to the gym leader... and then decided to train some more to round up Nimbus and Lady Tenti's levels from the experience they earned from the trainers. So then came the moment I've been waiting to get over with, the gym leader fight.

Sheocka was able to take care of most of the Pokemon on her own. The only Pokemon really even worth noting was that cursed Alteria. It was the second Pokemon she sent out. I decided since it was a dragon/flying type to give Nimbus a chance. I could of set up the hail for the stab weather ball. However, I thought since it was 4X weak to ice that Powder Snow would do plenty. However, it barely even did a quarter of the Pokemon's health. I would of set up the hail then, but that Alteria started Dragon Dancing which got me in panic mode. I was begging the game for the freeze, but I didn't get it. After two Dragon Dances it went for the Earthquake... earthquake. I forgot this Alteria had that, despite it being the major issue with this gym when I was playing through this game with a Pikachu family line only run.

I watch Nimbus's health crawled down... and it only went down to around half. I had a huge sigh of relief because I was worried Nimbus was a goner. But I wasn't sure what to do next. I considered to switch to Lady Tenti to take the hit. But I decided to stay in and beg for the freeze... thankfully I got better, I got the critical hit, finishing the Pokemon off. It was incredible, I'm real glad I didn't switch to Lady Tenti. In my panic, I forgot Lady Tenti was weak to Earthquake, there would have been no chance of its survival if I made that stupid play. Also Nimbus basically saved Sheocka's life, since I completely forgot about Earthquake on that Alteria. If I kept Sheocka in, that cursed Alteria would of Earthquaked Sheocka to its death. Instead, Nimbus was able to gain the glory of the gym and Sheocka was able to sweep the rest of the gym.

So with a new badge obtained, I can move on with my adventure. I really want to use Nimbus on my team, but with how well rounded my team currently is, I'm not sure where I would put him. It will be great to hold on to it though, since Ice types are rare to get in Hoenn so Nimbus will be able to act as my ice type when I need it. Plus it is a Nuzlocke, so I can't forget that I could loose a friend any time in this adventure. I'm especially worried about Zip'd just because it is an early stage bug type and those Pokemon tend not to be too strong late in the game, it's pretty amazing how far he's gotten as is. However, with its current move set, I don't plan on losing him any time soon. Well in the meantime, I did a little bit of training to get Nimbus up to the rest of the team in case I find a place for him on it and might as well train Zip'd while I'm at it since he's starting to fall a little behind with the levels. Afterwords, I suppose I can go on with my adventure... but is Hurracane really the only Pokemon on my team that can learn fly? ...yeah he really is the only Pokemon out of all the ones I own that can learn fly...

Pokemon Sapphire, My First Nuzlocke: First water routes and Route 119

So with my new found surf, I begin my surfing adventures by heading towards Dewford. In the process I came across some new routes so meaning more chances to get new wild Pokemon. Though I swear the only two wild Pokemon you can find are Wingull and Tentacool. Considering I already caught a Wingull, that means the only new Pokemon I got was a Tentacool, which isn't all that bad, but I wish there was more wild Pokemon I could get in these waters. I decided to name it Lady Tenti. I forget the reason, but I swear it wasn't just for the pun.

When finally making it to Dewford, I got something I've been looking forward giving to Zip'd for a long time, the TM for Sludge Bomb. At long last, Zip'd finally gets something decent he got STAB (same type attack bonus) from. Continuing onwards just so I can get all the trainers in the water I missed while on the boat, Code Red evolved during that training and learned Rock Slide in the process. So if I'm not mistaken, that means Dubstep is the only one who has yet to be fully evolved. This team is coming along quite nicely.

So I stopped by the sunken ship, but I'm not sure if I want to do it yet. I can't fully explore the place till later anyways but I might be able to at least pick-up some items, money experience from trainers. I eventually decided to go in since I need something to do while rendering videos anyways. Picking up some minor items and batting some trainers later I came across the TM for Ice Beam. Which will be very useful, though I'm going to wait a little bit before teaching it to one of my Pokemon. With a little more trainer training I made full circle over to Slateport and doing so I can head back to Mauvilve City.

I decided to run Wattson's little favor because the reward you get could be real useful. ...of course I derped again and forgot new Mauvilve was a new area so I could catch the first wild Pokemon I saw, if I remembered that. >_> Oh well, at least I already have a electric type on my team. So I did that task and picked up the Thunderbolt TM. Heck, while I'm in a sidequesting mood I'd better take care of that fossil too. So I get that resurrected but what to call this Anorith? After a bit of thought, I decided to call him Lloyd, I believe like the character from the Tales game. I was thinking about knights so I was leaning towards Flynn but I decided to go for Lloyd. I'm honestly not sure if Lloyd even has anything to do with knights in his game, but that's the name.

Well, at least with all my sidequesting out of the way I can move on with the game. So I went back over to Mauvilve and surf over to the right to get to a new route. Fighting trainers along the way, including the interviewers, Zip'd leveled up and finally learned Silver Wind. At long last I have a bug type move. Anyways, wait, new route? New wild Pokemon! After a quick talk with Steven I can head into that grass and get a new Pokemon! And it's another Wingull... I didn't even think they appeared in the grass on this route.

I was gonna talk for a fishman for experience and it turned out that he was the guy that gave me the good rod. It's about time I got a new rod. Too bad I already gave my shot at trying to get a wild Pokemon for this route. Oh well, it'll be good to have since I think I already have all the water Pokemon I can get from surfing and the old rod probably can't get be anything better than Magikarp. Well, might as well head off to the berry master to claim all of the berries. So after that, time to head upwards and with this is a new route with a new chance to hopefully get a new Pokemon and it turns out to be an Oddish. Granted, I don't really need more grass types but it feels like I haven't caught a new Pokemon in a long time so I'll take it. I was able to actually catch it but what to name it. I got it! Tulipnia since it happened to be a girl. Sadly Tulipnia is gonna sit in the box for a very long time now.

So I finally made it to the Weather Institute, fighting all the trainers along the way. There's a bed to rest my Pokemon and my team has well earned that rest. Sadly the place has been taken over by Team Aqua, so I'll have to take care of them later.

Pokemon Sapphire, My First Nuzlocke: Gym Leader Norman

So after going out of the gym, May told me the subtle hint that I should to Nuzzle's(my Nuzlocke character's name) father and his gym. But more importantly, I got the GoGoggles, which will finally let me go into that desert route and catch a new wild Pokemon as well as get a fossil to turn into a Pokemon. I even checked to make sure there were no other grass I could of gone into in that route, and I'm good! I'm real excited for this since this is the one place in the game you can get a Trapinch in the game which would allow me to have a Flyagon, one of my favorite 3rd gen Pokemon. But knowing the jynxing luck I'm probably not going to run into it now, but since the worst thing I could run into on the route is a Sandshrew, I'll be getting something decent no matter what. Really hoping for a Trapinch though, and if I can't get that, then at least get a Baltoy instead...

...and it's a Cacnea. Better than a Sandshrew I guess but I already have 2 grass types and one of them is a solid spot on my team... might as well catch it anyways... I think it's worth noting while training for the gym, PlumpPickl learned Knock off. I thought it would be cool to actually have a move of a different type but it's incredibly weak. At least that makes it good for weaking up wild Pokemon to catch. Well I got the Cacnea... what to call it? Well, it trolled me out of getting a Pokemon I would want to use, it has a troll face... I was gonna call it troll plant or something silly like that but then I remember “from a certain Tales LP I'm watching” *cough* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4vdnwOh0rc&feature=BFp&list=WLDA41650C99666ACA , about Jade who take about every chance he gets to troll the party. So this one named after you Jade. With some “..” after it to get the point across. Time to put Jade in the box where all will be safe from his trolling from now on... hopefully.

Well at least I can get the fossils... one of them at least. Well the Pokemon from the root fossil is my favorite of the two, but I already got 3 grass types now... I guess I'll for the claw fossil. Hopefully I won't need to rely on either of them but at least I got a wider range of types by taking the claw fossil. Bye bye root fossil, it hurts you more than it hurts me. Well after picking up Zip'd from the Day Care, I decided to leave my Zubat, sorry forgot what I called it, in the Day Care in its place. Zip'd is still a bit behind so I guess I better raise him up too. Zip'd leveled up enough to learn Light Screen... normally wouldn't use it, but I get the feeling I could use it to my advantage if I use it smartly so I got rid of Moonlight for it... I had to get rid of it eventually since items will be more reliable in this playthrough.

Well I didn't do much grinding, but after checking some levels, I had a good feeling I could get through the gym in one piece. Time to finally face daddy... Nuzzle's daddy that is. Decided PlumpPickl would be very helpful for this gym so I decided to bring him for this gym again. Dubstep sat this gym out in exchange. So first of all was the process of taking care of the gym trainers for the sake of experience. Most of them were incredibly easy... most of them. Each of the gym trainers specialize in the use of an item, X-item, healing, etc. I decided to lead with Hurrcane to get experience for him. When I saw him use the item for raising critical, or was it the power-based trainer? I thought it would be smart to use protect to scout out its move. But no, it just used sword dance instead. My heart kept racing as it kept sword dancing its attack stats to the roof. As I got close to defeating it, the Pokemon finally attacked. By some miraculous means, Hurrcane survive. But he barely had any health to spare, but my opponent barely had health to spare as well. I could heal, but what if he got a critical hit next time, then the heal would be a waste. I wasn't quite sure if another attack would finish it off but I had to take the risk. I go for the Wing Attack... and it went down! Hurrcane made it through the fight in one piece. What luck! Man words can not describe how lucky I was in that fight.

Thought that wasn't even the gym leader fight. Though I think I got an idea to make this fight fairly easy to avoid casualties. So the battle begins. He leads with Slanking... woah, wait! I thought he lead with Vigeroth. Lovely my plan is already backfiring. Though with Plumpickl and Shroomhiness I was able to fight my way through. Then comes the Vigeroth if I recall but between my two fighting types there wasn't any problems. Then last but not least was another Slanking! This time however, I was able to switch into Hurracane and get out my plan I've been so waiting to do. You see, Slanking is an immensity powerful Pokemon but what keeps him from being overpower is its ability that makes him only attack every other turn. Hurracane has protect, a move that prevents all damage guaranteed, unless you use it multiple turns in a row. Add two and two together and I think you know what this means.... this in a nut shell minus having to use a Leppa Berry, (http://www.nuzlocke.com/pokemonhardmode.php?p=7 )

So with that I have a new badge in hand and a useful TM it's onwards with exploration. First of all, pick up the surf TM so Hurracane has finally got a good water type move and also, the ability to actually progress in the game. First, I might as well pick up some new water type on the new routes I can now reach and pick up a good TM for Zip'd. What is it? Well if you haven't guess, I'll tell you when I get it.

Pokemon Sapphire, My First Nuzlocke: Archie and Flanery

So I went forward up the cable cart to face off against Team Aqua. Fighting against Archie's followers I got the feeling I would make it through alright. But I still was nervous considering once I went into this fight against Archie, there was no turning back. I lead off with Sheocka thinking he would either lead with this water Pokemon or Golbat. Turns out it was neither, he lead off with his Mighteyna. To play it safe, I paralyzed it before switching back to Funghiness. Worked out for me since that hound just kept sand attacking and then used bite once my Pokemon that resisted dark moves did it's attack, AI fail for the win. Besides that, the fight went smoothly and I was never in risk of anyone fainting. Better anti-climatic than to have death I say.

So with team Aqua out of the picture for now, it's time to head to the next town... wait that means going through a new route, so I get to catch a new wild Pokemon! …and the one time I'm prepared to catch a wild Pokemon, it turns out to be another Numel, so I didn't bother. I'm thinking of applying the “only catch one Pokemon of a species” since it's pointless to have to of the same Pokemon and it definatly would feel like I was replacing a Pokemon if I were to use another Numel or Wishmur if Code Red or Dubstep were to die.

With that, I make it to Magoniy Town... I think that's what it's called. On the way there I decided to check out the hot spring and I was offered a Pokemon egg. Well, I've seen other Nuzlocke challenges use Pokemon eggs and technically there's no other Pokemon I can get right in the town so it fits in the standard Nuzlocke rules “technically” so I decided to get it for now. If I remember the Pokemon that was in it, I have doubts I'll actually use it, but I may be surprised. So I guess I'll walk around with it while I train up my Pokemon for the gym.

During my training I decided to clear out all the gym trainers in advance for the experience and so I can assure that I make it to the leader with full health. Also decided to use PlumpPickl instead of Funghiness since Funghiness will be weak to the gym. Zip'd also gonna sit this gym out for similar reasons. I actually managed to get PlumpPickl up to the level of the rest of the team pretty quickly so I don't have to worry about him slowing the battle down, despite not planning on using him. The egg hatched as well, into a Wynaut, as expected. I think I might try using it for a little bit but first it has to get up to level at the rest of the team so into the day care it goes. By the way, her name is Wonda, like Wanda but with an “o” since it evolves into a Wobbuffet.

So after much preparation, I decided to take on Flanery. Boy was it the closest match I've had yet. I couldn't help but look at the levels of Flanery's Pokemon and by faith I saw that one of her Pokemon had Rock Slide so my orginal plan of using Hurracane on everything could have had disastrous results if I kept with it. So I instead put my trust in Code Red to take out the 2 Slugmas just in case she decided to lead with the one with Rock Slide. It seem like I was on easy ground when she sent out her Torkal but the truth was the battle was only getting started.

I thought Code Red could finish the job, but it kept paralyzing me with body slam and started using attract. It was a mad swap between Hurracane and Code Red while I tried to heal the other up. It wasn't going so well, but then I remember my other Pokemon. After trying to decide who would be able to take hits the best I decided to go with PlumpPickl to tank the attacks and sacrifice himself for the team, only if needed. So PlumpPickl kept out while I healed up Code Red and Hurracane it was a long struggle but it came to the point that I was determine to make sure nobody died in that fight.

Using PlumpPickl as a wall I drained the Torkal of all its special attack with its use of Overheat making switching in even more easy then before. Eventually Hurracane finished the job and got us a new badge, but I wouldn't of gotten through the battle without all three of those Pokemon. So PlumpPickl, Hurracane, and Code Red thank you.

Pokemon Sapphire, My First Nuzlocke: Meteor Falls

So as I continued onward with my adventure down route 113, I was actually doing great avoiding a wild Pokemon while fighting trainers. Of course on the way back as Code Red was poisoned was when I ran into one... not that was an issue overal though

Also kind of wished it was something better than a Spinda, but hey, at least I was able to catch it. I gave it the name Teddy and was sent to the box right away. Hopefully to never see the light of day. Well, at least had antidotes still to take care of the poison. Weird, I never use antidotes this late into a Pokemon game. I guess the environment of a Nuzlocke is the reason behind this.

So after that, I manage to pick up the soot bag, not sure if I'll use this yet or not since I can get some good stat healing items.  We'll see how much grinding I feel up to.  After using my free heal for a new town I decide to go to the next route and take on the trainers... forgetting it was a new route and ruining my chance to get a Lotad. Well my team is pretty well set at this point and there probably isn't a place for a Lotad anyways, but I got to stop thinking like that... the Swablu I ran into next would of been nice, but Nuzlocke rules, gotta follow them if it's a mistake on my behalf.

Speaking of, I'm a little worry about how balance it is. I thought I didn't have a full team each with a different type but that was because I forgot about Zip'd.  I guess it's because I never use a Dustox for this long into the game. That and most Nuzlockes I see that use a Wurple or even Caterpie usually lose it to poisoning early on in the game.  I'm a bit worried for Zip'd since bugs like him aren't usually that strong to use late on into the game.  But he's got me pretty far as is, and I may be surprised by what he can do in the future.  Hey, if I catch I better Pokemon I can always save Zip'd from the burden of death by using it instead.  Assuming I stop KOing the first wild Pokemon I find on a route.

So along my way I just rock smash a random rock and a Geodude came out of nowhere.  Really not used to this.  It's still on the same route so I still can't catch it.  Shame.  In the process, I realized I never taught Strength to anyone.  It's a decent HM move so I should teach it to at least a Pokemon.  HMs are reuseable so I taught it just to Code Red for tackle and DubStep in exchange for Uproar.  Sure pound is weaker but Uproar was really getting to me and I rather have Pound since it has more PP for now.  It'll probably be forgotten by the time DubStep learns a new move anyways.  As for Sheocka, she can learn it too but I think I'll wait and see if she learns anything better since HM moves can't be forgotten until I get to a certain point in the game.  Speaking of HMs and TMs, I decided to look up where to get Sludge Bomb while grinding, since it would make an excellent move for Zip'd.  Turns out I can't get it until getting 5 gym badges even though I've already been to the place I can get it at.  Also looked up Dustox stats and it's actually a bit more defense than I remember, maybe he can last after all.

After that, I guess I'll go into Meteor Falls and see if I can catch another Pokemon... and it turns out to be a Zubat.  To be honest, I was kind-of hoping I'd run into one eventually, since I love using Crobat.  Sure there's better things I can get but I'll take what I can get. I decided to call him Zimon, (get it?  Simon expect with a "z" instead of a "s".) With that, there's a no battle required scene with Team Magma and Aqua and I can head out.  But first, healing, since I caught a new Pokemon.  Yay!

Well I thought I could catch yet another wild Pokemon but I realized I need to have surf in order to get over to the grass on this route... guess that will have to wait...  I got to go to the lifts back and instead of jumping down the cliff and having to go around that way, I'll just back track I still got to pick up my soot items.  Got a Blue and Yellow Flute.  Blue curing sleep and yellow curing confusion.  The best part?  I can use these items as often as I need to, they have unlimited uses. Yay!  Well I'm at the lift now and I think this would be a good point to stop after all a serious fight is coming up soon.  So with full health, and saving I close my game for now.

Pokemon Sapphire, My First Nuzlocke: Winstrate Family & Fiery Path

Well with the 3rd gym done, I suppose my first priority is to catch Sheocka and Hurrcane up with the rest of the team. Sheocka had some rough times during grinding and of course I kept Hurracane as far away from that gym as I could. Since most of my team is still in perfect health from that gym, I decided to try and grind them up in levels before using a healing item.

Now that I'm done with the 3rd gym. I'm seriously considering boxing Tin Timber for hopefully the rest of the run. Simple answer is I don't need two grass types and I rather use Funghiness because it's fighting and grass and doing good so far with both types. Of course, Plumppickl is a pure fighting type so it's a bit redundant in type coverage to have him too but until I catch more Pokemon to cover my teams weakness Plumppickl is certainly better than no Pokemon at all. A stater Pokemon probably would have the be stronger than Funghiness, but Tin Timber will still be around in case I changed my mind and you know... in case something terrible happens.

During my grinding Hurrancane came way too close to doom, but I was able to save him, thanks to the berries I put away. Can't believe I forgot to withdraw my Antidotes and Full Heals after the gym. Well, certainly am doing that before I progress onwards. Speaking of Hurrancane, thanks to the experience share, he was able to get enough experience to evolve into a Pelipper. Now the only to main members of my team not fully evolved are Dubstep and Sheocka. The latter who shouldn't be that far away from said evolution.

So I decided to take on the Winstrate family and what was I worried about? I took them all on without any worries of death what-so-ever. Didn't even get much experience or money from it but I guess a little experience is better than none. After that I took a trip to Vertanturf to complete the Rustbro Cave. One rock smash and a couple were reunited and I got the Strength HM. Despite not having the badge to use Strength outside battles I'm tempted to use it since Strength is a pretty good move for this point of the game. Anyways, I put PlumpPickl at the day care for now since I want Mr.Pickup around to get items while I fight the trainers. I might put him back in the party after I get some trainers taken care of but for now it'll be raised there.

So now that I cleared all the trainers before Mt. Chimney and there's a patch of grass right nearby so let's see if I can catch a new Pokemon. It turns out to be a Numel, cool! I could use a fire type and a ground type when it evolves into one. Now... what to call it? Well Mt. Dew is on my mind so I was considering calling it Lava Dew... but I went with Code Red. Maybe I do have Mt. Dew issues... so Code Red was sent to the PC, so I'm gonna go back and take him out so I can train him a bit... after I grind a little to make use of the free heal for catching a Pokemon rule I have.

While doing that, Sheocka evolved into Mangectric! I forgot that evolution was coming up so soon. Well that evolution certainly gave her enough health to fight on her own... if it wasn't for the fact the majority of the Pokemon on this route are ground types. I actually forgot Numel started as a fire/ground type well at least I got that mistake out of the way before it really bit me in the butt. Since I have to have Mr.Pickup in my party to get pass the Rock Smashable rocks I guess Zip'd will be spending some time in the day care as well while I raise Code Red.

Well into the Fiery Path since it's technically a new area time to catch another new Pokemon! It was a Torkal, which would have been cool despite having just caught a fire type... if I didn't faint it in the process! I swear quick attack barely did anything but Spark 1-hit KOed it.... I guess I underestamated Sheocka's strength. At least I have Code Red, I think his typing better balances my team anyways, plus he can evolve while Torkal can't. Guess it was faith. So I cleared the rest of the trainers in Route 111 and did some grinding to try and get Code Red up in levels to the rest of the team. Though I won't deny any experience I can get for the others in the process. Brought some Rare Candys along with me to speed along the process as well. Actually we'll be going pretty far, so I think I'm gonna take PlumpPickl and Zip'd out of the Day Care and put them in the PC for now so I'll have access to them if I need them in future routes ahead. Along the way of going back to the Day Care, I found Grimers appear in the Fiery Path. That stinks but again, it must have been faith. After getting my Pokemon out of there, I made my way back to where I was. There's a nice old lady who's willing to give my Pokemon a rest for free, so I should make use of that and make my way onwards later.

Pokemon Sapphire, My First Nuzlocke: Gym Leader Wattson

So as I started my Nuzlocke run for the day, I decided to take care of the trainers that were to the left of Mauville City. Just to get the money and experience out of the way while I'm grinding and have full health on the team. With some training, I finally got Funghiness to a high enough level to evolve! With that evolution it learns Mac Punch. Finally! A fully evolved Pokemon with a fighting type move. Just what I need for the upcoming gym!

BTW I got to stop watching videos when I go into new routes... I forgot to catch the first Pokemon I saw! >_> On the brightside I'm pretty sure it was a Rosella, which I wouldn't use considering I already have two grass types, but you never know what will happen in a Nuzlocke. Well bye-gones are bye-gones, I'll just have to be careful at the next gym and make up for my foolery in the next route I go to.

Sheocka did get poison in the process of training but I was able to make it back to the Pokemon Center without it dieing, granted I was watching it's health and if it got too low I would of used a Pecha Berry, still I saved myself a healing item. In the process I decided to check out the Verdanturf Town mart... and there are no more Potions so I guess I'm either gonna have to backtrack or drop Super Potions whenever I want to heal now... joy.

So I started to grind and thought before I use up anymore health and PP I might as well talk to Wally, who's blocking the next gym BTW. Dubstep made quicker work out of it than I thought with a simple Astonish. I was starting to forget I had that move. :P Hmm... this is interesting though. It seems like Mr. Pickup picked up a Protein from that fight. I guess it will go to DubStep, even though PlumpPickl has the least attack out of my Psychical attackers. It should be evolving real soon therefore getting a lot of attack and Dubstep had the second least amount of attack stat. Still really good with the health so let's see how many gym trainers I can take care of. Answer is enough to level PlumpPickl up to evolution.

So that takes care of all the gym trainers so I don't accidentally run into anyone when it is time to take on the gym leader. My team is still pretty healthy so I think I'll do some more grinding before I heal, then to decide if I should take on the gym leader. There isn't too much more I can do before taking on the gym. Trust me, if there was I would. Actually there's still the north but I still need Rock Smash before I can fully explore it. Might see what I can do depending on my team's levels after training. Speaking of, got another Protein, a few Ultra Balls, and even several Rare Candies from Mr. Pickup, so thanks to Mr. Pickup! You're awesome even when you're not on the main team anymore!

So with nothing else left between me and the leader, I take him on. First Magamite, which Funghiness takes out with ease. Then comes out what I've dreaded this entire game... Volbtorb. I've seen Nuzlockes where this guy takes out a Pokemon with him so I wasn't sure what to do... I decided to leave Funghiness out only because he had the best defense. I decided to lead off with a headbutt hoping if it didn't finish it off it would flinch it. Then the unthinkable happened, Volbtorb outsped me... and went for Sonicboom. Thank the lord it wasn't selfdestruct. But after my headbutt it lived in the red health. “Oh no!” I thought, “if it's gonna explode, it's gonna do it now”, and with Funghiness not having full health, I wasn't sure he could take the move.

After much thought, I finally realized, I have Mach Punch! I can finish it off before it even gets the chance to attack! But as I was going for the Mach Punch, Wattson went for the Super Potion, which completely healed him. If I couldn't get more than half damage with this Mach Punch Funghiness may not make it out of this gym alive! As I watch the Volbtorb health goes down... it goes to the orange and Yes! Half health! Funghiness can do this. With one more Mach Punch I take the Volbtrob down. I then give a sigh of relief, because the worst part, what I fear most about this gym was done... never to bother the team again. Granted there was still a Magneton to deal with. Despite Funghiness being pretty full in health, I decided to switch over to PlumpPickl, just to be safe. With some arm thrust and tanking a paralyzation, the Magneton goes down and I get a nice new gym badge. With it comes the ability to finally use Rock Smash and the TM for Shock wave. Overall, an easy gym, probably because of my grinding, but for this one especially, I'd rather be safe than sorry. Now that I don't have to worry about electric types as much, I think I'm gonna get Hurracane from the day care... and it learned Mist from the daycare...yay with all the sarcasms... well, at least I still have the important moves still. Yay for planning before sending a Pokemon into a daycare, this time without sarcasm! Anyways I suppose with that I'll continue my adventures onward!

Pokemon Sapphire, My First Nuzlocke: Team Aqua and May

So I'm finally ready to head off against Team Aqua in Slateport... and I took care of them without the slightest problem. Oh well, better safe than sorry. Since I took them out in record time and health, I suppose I can explore the rest of the route that's now open and fight the trainers along the way. So after a pretty annoying Pluse and Minum fight, I decide my next desination would be the Trick House, a good place to pick up some items and experience from the trainers within. So I got through that with everyone alive and claimed the Rare Candy. Next came clearing all the trainers to the left of the trick house. I'll admit there were some close calls in the training, especially since with Dubstep once I start using uproar, I can't switch out until it finishes even if it only has a quarter of it's health left when it's done. >_> Really hate how risky the move is, but it's the best thing Dubstep can do for now. With that done, I know there's a rival fight coming up so I think I'll do a little more training before I progress onwards.

In the process of grinding DubStep evolved into a Loudred. A bit of a shame I didn't even get to see it though since I was grinding and he had the Experience Share. So by the time I realized it he was already evolved. Oh well, I'll take it, especially for the next gym. I don't know if it's ironic or not, but it happened while I was watching “an AttackingTucans video”. I'm embarrassed just to admit that, let alone which one but it's certainly was something that DubStep evolved during that. Also took the time to look up the levels of Watson's Pokemon just to make sure I wasn't underlevel by the time I get to the gym. Considering his Pokemon are all in the low 20s and all but Tim Timber are at least Lv.20, I think I'll be good by the time I get there. Therefore I certainly should be ready for May, just got to finish getting the most training out of my Pokemon's health.

So then I go head-to-head with May herself... and she isn't any trouble at all. Well I was a little worried with Walimer and roll-out but there are Walimer I fight later on the route that gave me more trouble. Hurracne was great against Combuskin which is good considering this will be his last major fight until after the 3rd gym. Electricty is no good for a water/flying type. After words, I took on the rest of the trainers on the route, picked up a bike, and took on the trainers on the bike path. (Also picked up the coin case by exchanging a harbor mail I had to backtrack for.) I had a close call with PlumpPickl when I was getting to use to switching into him with to get Sheocka experience with the Magamites. Dang a critcal Thundershock does a lot. Thank goodness PlumpPickl didn't die, I really need him and Shroomhiness for the next gym. Though Shoroomhiness won't be too helpful if he doesn't evolve before the gym... he's getting close though.

After that I think I'll clear some of the trainers to the right of this town containing the third gym and check it out later. In the meantime, here's my team.

Team:
Tin Timber the Grovile Lv.22
Funghiness the Shroomish Lv.22

Sapphire, My First Nuzlocke: Sailport City Grinding

So before heading off to Slateport, I decided to go back to Rustboro City and see if I could pick up the Exp. Share I get as an award for delivering the letter right away. If I have to deliver the package first, at least my Pokemon will get experience along the way. It was a good time to train PlumPickl, since he got a few levels just from the trip. Also with me getting more and more Pokemon I snapped and finally decided to teach Mr. Pickup cut. Was it worth it, well, if I don't end up using him, then yes consider it gave me a bit more trainer experience and some berries. I was disappointed when one of the items behind a cut tree was an X-item though. Turns out I made the right choice going back since I was able to get the experience share which will make training weaker Pokemon like PlumPickl a lot easier.

So then I sailed back to Sailport and fought all the trainers on the beach I was actually surprised how I didn't need to use the Pokemon Center for all of them. I did cut it close when I accidentally sent out PlumPickl out with half health, but thankfully it was only an Azmual so he was able to handle it. So after doing all that again getting some free Soda Pop, I decided to go through Slateport city and train in the route above. I almost forgot that it was a new route though and almost missed out catching a new Pokemon. Thankfully I remembered on the first wild Pokemon, an Electrike. It was actually difficult catching it, since I put Shroomhiness in the box to train on that route. With some good timing with Hurrancaine weakening it and one of the Ultra Balls Mr.Pickup got for me, I managed to grab it. It was actually a girl so after some thought I decided to call it Sheocka, a play on the combination of the words “Shock” and “Sheba” from the Golden Sun games, who is a wind adapt, therefore can wield lighting as well. I get the feeling Sheocka is going to play a role in my team in the future since I need to start working on balancing my team's typing now that got more than 6 Pokemon to work with. I realize there's gonna be so Team Aqua fights required between now and the gym and while they're usually not that bad as the gyms, I still gotta be careful.

So I did quite a bit of grinding while watching videos on Youtube. Bad idea I know, but I pay enough attention to the game and tend to grind really safe, (not letting a Pokemon battle if it's even close to half healh), so it's been going real smooth so far everyone minus Mr. Pickup is at Lv.16 right now. The experience share has been great for training so far. If a Pokemon is too weak to train but needs the experience, it can just hold onto it until it gets on par with the rest of the team. It's been real useful for Sheocka since she doesn't really have any good moves for battle yet. Can't wait until it learns Spark at Lv.20. I also looked up what levels the grunts I would be at that I have to fight would be at and all my team members are certainly ready to fight them. But since I'm just watching videos anyways, the more experience my party gets now, the safer they'll be in future battles, especially the 3rd gym. Really worried about that. Oh I guess it's worth noting that I think Tin Timber is actually gonna sit in the box for a little while, since Funghiness is already a grass type. So I took care of the events to go into the museum and I think here is where I'll call it a-due.

Current Main Team:
Funghiness (Shroomish) Lv.19

Sapphire, My first Nuzlocke: Dewford Town

So I finally got back into playing my Nuzlocke file. (Also notice that I'm pretty sure I've messed up the spelling of Nuzlocke several times in these blogs now. So forgive me, but I doubt it will be the last time I make that mistake. So I spent a lot of time training in the Petaburg woods. I just wanted to do some training since I'm heading to a new town soon and will get the chance for a free heal. Though I guess my team is so strong now that most of my team members can handle themselves enough to run out of PP before running out of health. Though Mr. Pickup and Dubstep are kind of struggling for experience. Though even they were able to get a couple levels without spending my potions. Speaking of Mr. Pickup, he picked up a ton of items in my training, including a Rare Candy, that will be useful. Watching videos while grinding certainly makes the time flies.

So after doing that, I head to Mr. Brindy's place, sailed over to Dewford Town to get my free heal of the town and picking up the Silk Scarf and Old Rod. The piror being more useful, but I'm sure I'll find a route that I could use the rod on a route that I couldn't get anything else. Afterwords I headed to Granite Cave fighting the trainers along the way. I headed in the cave and got the TM flash from a hiker. Despite the fact I would need the gym badge from this town to use Flash, I didn't want to waste the move slot on one of my team members. So I decided to see if I could get through the cave without Flash.

Oh by the way the Pokemon I got from this cave was a Makuita. Not bad, though I'm already planning on Shromhiness in being my fighting type. It was a little rough catching it, considering my Pokemon were so much stronger than the wild Pokemon. But with a little thinking I was able to get a little bit of damage off from confusion and get it catchable in a Pokeball through paralyzing it. It'll be helpful for the 3rd gym so I won't complain. Really wanted to get an Aron since it's one of my favorite 3rd generation Pokemon and something that quad resists normal type moves will be VERY helpful for the 3rd gym. But it's a Nuzlocke, gotta take what I get. Anyways, I had the weird urge to call it Plump Pickle, so it is now called PlumpPickl. I actually was able to get through the cave in one piece without Flash so yippie! Going through the cave I was able to deliver the letter to Steven and get the Steel Wing TM.

Next up is the gym, and considering how I mostly only used Pokemon that there is no way I'm using for the gym, I decided to save a Potion and take on the gym leaders before healing. The two main Pokemon I'm using in this gym are in full health anyways. I forgot their was a dual fighting type with a Psychic sub-type... and Zip'd is part poison. Thankfully Zip'd was strong enough to take the hit without dieing. Besides that, no problem with the trainers and I was able to heal everyone up before fighting the gym leader.

Then at last, it's time to take on the gym leader. I lead with Hurracane, he lead with Machop. I started to panic when he was using Bulk-up and decide to switch to Tin Timber to tank some hits while I healed Hurrance... that was a mistake! Thankfully he didn't get one shot but he took more than half of his health from one Karate Chop, my god, if it was a critical... but for what felt like ages, though more like minutes I was just at a standstill. I didn't know what to do, there was no point in healing since he would of just take that damage again and it was a matter of time until a crit. came. I wasn't sure if it be worth it to switch to Zip'd or Hurracane because they would have to take whatever attack would come next. After pondering my choices for a while, I decided to switch into Zip and hope he could tank the hit to finish the job... and he did. He only lost 2 hp from the attack and it was awesome! I was able to heal everyone else back up to perfect health with Zip'd having enough health left to finish the job. Then the rest of the battle went smooth.

But still, but if my starter almost died from the 2nd gym I am terrified of what the 3rd gym will bring. But neverless I got the badge, got the TM, I'm good for now. I just gotta train even more than I did before for the next gym for sure. Certainly gonna start training PlumpPickl for the third gym as well. Most of all I'm thankful that everyone made it out of that gym alive.

Sapphire, My First Nuzlocke: Leader Roxane

So after not playing this for a while, I decided to do a bit more grinding before heading to the gym, even if that does require the cost of a potion or two to heal the team. The experience they would gain would be well worth the cost. Plus you can never be too careful.

In the process of grinding, Mr. Pickup got me an Ultra Ball, a PP Up, even a Full Restore all which will be useful in the future, I'm sure.

I notice Tin Timber was struggling a bit with leveling up, at least compared to Funhighnesness. But just by going back to a lower route with weaker Pokemon and using absorb on things, I was able to get enough health back to feel safe training him again in the route with the stronger Pokemon without tossing a Potion to heal at the Pokemon Center. It was worth it too because Tin Timber was actually able to get higher in levels than Funghuness. He even evolved into a Grovile and learn pursuit. It was equally as strong as pound, but diversified his move pool, which I know will be good for the future. He can now hold his own and one-shot any of the Pokemon on this route and I feel comfortable with him being able to take some hits if I need to switch to him from another Pokemon.

Funghighness also learned Mega Drain, and is now basically one-shoting all the wild Pokemon as well. The two of them are now at Lv.17. They are well over-leveled compared to the rest of my team, but this was all well worth the time and extra Pokemon Center payment. I think it's time for me to take on the gym.

First I took on the trainers. I was a little worried, but Hurracane was able to handle all of their Pokemon without a sweat. I'm not worried about the leader now at all. Though Hurrane is sitting the rest of this gym out, because I know the leader has rock moves still good experience neverless and he finally learned a flying move. Which will be needed for the next gym.

Might of overdid the training since I breezed by the leader without Tin Timber losing even half his health and no worries. Then again, better safe than sorry. ;) So the badge and Rock Tomb TM are mine. I don't even need to heal. Which marks a good chance to get Dubstep a level or two.

Don't want to train too much though, I think I can even take out a Grunt without wasting a Potion. But first wild Pokemon of the cave, it's a Whismur. Like I said, it's the only Pokemon you can find. I was able to catch it, (remember my clauses), without too much trouble. Decided to call it MicahelMix hopefully I'll never need to call on him... At least I get a free heal, which I'll use after this Grunt fight.

It was just one Poccheyna, but it did spook me for a second when my Pokemon started missing at it keep using howl. But it turns out I got scared over nothing. I even got health left to spare for grinding before heading back and using my free heal. As for cut, for now I don't feel it's worthwhile to teach waste a move-slot on any of my Pokemon to get to the few items I gain access to... for now. Mr. Pickup may make a good HM slave in the future if DubStep can prove itself as a worthy normal type. Since its a Nuzlock, I want to see what happens before I give Mr. Pickup a weak move that I can't forget until late in the game.

Sapphire, My First Nuzlocke: Petaburg Woods

So I was actually able to make it through Petaburg Woods in one piece.   After getting out of the woods I checked the grass above and ran into a Wingull, just what I needed.  I managed to catch it and call it Hurracane.  I know that's not how you spell the actual name, but that's how I wanted to spell it.  (And totally not because I was derping out on how to spell hurricane.)  Honestly I was a bit worried about the trainers and how Hurracane came into the party at Lv. 4.  But it all worked out for the best as I was able to beat all the trainers without having any causalities.  I did have to give-up one Potion for an extra Pokemon Center visit but considering that I found at least one on the ground, it evened out. Even was able to get Hurracane up to level with the rest of the team.  Zip'd even evolved into a Dustox which caught me off guard 'cause I thought it was a Silcoon and not a Castcoon for whatever reason but it's probably for the better because my team is more diverse now.

I still have a bit of a fear of Taillow after what happened to MadmChomp, but I did manage to get the courage to beat a wild one... I'm still for the most part running away from them though.

So after the training and beating all the trainers I finally made it into Rustboro City and after getting items I could find, including the Cut HM, and my free heal, I headed into the next Route to get the trainers and my Pokemon of the route out of the way.  In a route with so many new Pokemon like Nincast, Tallow, and Skitty, guess what I got? A Whismur.  Sure it's new but the cave up ahead has nothing but this Pokemon so I was a bit disappointed with the opportunity to diversify my team wasted, but that's how the Nuzlock works.  At least now I have a full team.  By the way the Whismur is named DubStep

Since I get a free heal after catching a new Pokemon, I made the most out of this opportunity to take out all the trainers on the Route I could and my team even had some energy left to do a bit more grinding on the wild Pokemon.  But now I think I've got my team as strong it can be without healing, yet without also not putting them in danger of fainting so I'm gonna go heal now and maybe after that I'll check out the gym.

Since it is a rock type gym Shromhigness and Tin Timber are going to be my keys to victory if I want everyone to come out alive. I don't even want to risk Hurracane out in battle since I know the leader has Rock Tomb which would make quick work out of him.  Thankfully these two Pokemon having Absorb and Leech Seed made training them with high health pretty easy and I only had to heal because they were running out of PP.  I'll have to play it safe with the gym trainers just to see how strong they are.

Sapphire, My First Nuzlocke: Twitter feed catch-up

Now to get everyone on the same page with my Nuzlock by reposting what I've posted on my Twitter feed here.

5/12/11

3rd Town of game:

After much hesitation I decided to finally to try a Nuzlock run. It's been going real smooth so far with 3 party members & no deaths.  Granted there have been close calls but I've been very careful with my Pokemon's health so far in case of the "stupid crit." situation.  I'm also trying a healing rule I made up, I only get free heals at the Pkm Center first time I go into a new town & when I catch a new Pkm.  ...after that I have to toss a Potion in order to use one. I'm not counting home as a Pkm Center so I will admit I was abusing that. :P

Right outside Petaburg Woods:

**** Swellow and it's Focus Energy and having Peck. RIP MadmChop, I tried my best to keep you alive, but your sacrifice was not in vain. :(

The worst part about MadmChomp's death is I knew Poocheyna was frail and hard to keep alive from the beginning and I was doing great having her win battles without pushing her too hard. I was on the edge of my seat a lot but she never fell in danger of dieing...

then that trainer just had to use a high level Tallow on me. With half my team, including my starter being weak to peck, it would of been a miracle if everyone made it out alive. I was swapping between a lot of Pokemon just to keep everyone alive. It basically came down to the point of either risk having Zip'd died to it's peck or send out MadmComp to tank the hit while I healed my starter... however the jerk decided to do quick attack instead and I think it was a critical too.

Though without MadmChomp's sacrifice, either Zip'd or my starter wouldn't of made it through the battle, and for this MadmComp shall be honored. Was hoping I could get her into being a Mighteyna but alas faith wouldn't allow it. RIP once more MadmChomp.

On the brightside, Mr.Pickup did picked up a nugget so that should take care of me in relation to my healing rules for a very long time.

In case you're wondering, my team so far is.
Tin Timber the Treecko Lv.10
Zip'd the Cascoon Lv.7
Mr.Pickup the Zigazagoon Lv.7

Deaths: 1

And I made it outside Petalburg Woods, though I'm not going to being leaving Route 1 anytime soon, especially if I'm going to be grinding while watching a stream I would need total concentration for any Pokemon stronger than that. Even now I got to be careful my Pokemon don't get lower than Green health in the process.

Well I'm done watching the stream. In the process I caught a Shromish from Petaburg Woods and basically got everyone expect Tin Timber to Lv.9 , Tin Timber is already at Lv.10.

I think after this, I'm gonna going to try and go through Petaburg Woods and then call it a night. Mr. Pickup picked up a couple Super Potions during the grinding so I think I'll be good with the healing items for at least a little while.

Sapphire, My first Nuzlocke Run: Intro & Rules

So against my hesitation for so long, I decided to give the whole Nuzlock run a try.  If you've never heard of a Nuzlock run before it basically involves playing through a Pokemon game with the main rules below.  I also added a few custom rules to either make it less annoying on me or add an interesting twist.

Rules of Nuzlocke:

You are only allowed to catch the very first Pokemon you see in a route.  You make it faint, tough luck, you don't have Pokeballs tough luck.
If a Pokemon faints in battle it is considered dead. It must released or boxed and never be used again the rest of the playthrough.
If all your Pokemon faint, it's game over.

Custom Rules:

Poke Center as Business Clause:

I am allowed one free heal the first time I come to a town and 1 free heal for each new Pokemon I catch.  After that I must "pay" 300 poke'dollars/yen to use the Pokemon Center. (This means I have to toss 1 Potion from my inventory to use the Pokemon Center.) Home does not count as a Pokemon Center, and I can get as many free heals as I want there but of course that will only be applicable early on in the game. When I'm anywhere beyond Petaburg Woods, plot-wise I am not allow to go home just to heal.

Species Clause:

I think I will allow myself to catch more than one Pokemon of the same kind.  However, I am only allowed to use one Pokemon of the same species at a time on my team.  Any extras have to be boxed and can't be withdrawn until the first one dies or for the purpose of HM moves.

HM Execption Clause:

If I have a Pokemon that can learn an HM move I am not allowed to catch an HM slave, it has to be taught to one of those Poekmon.  If I don't and it is required to advance through the plot of the game, then I am allowed to catch one Pokemon to use for nothing but progressing the plot. Once that point has been reached it must be released or never used again.

Shiny Clause:

If I'm lucky enough to find a freakin' shiny in this run I'm gonna catch the freakin' shiny!  Even if it breaks the main rules.  However, I will not be using it within the actual Nuzlock run if it breaks the "catch only first Pokemon per/route" rule.  It'll act like a prize for when I finish the run.

I'm a newb Clause:

This is my first time playing this type of challenge so I reserve the right to bend the custom rules as I feel appropriate.

Computer Status

My computer Status and why I haven't been uploading to Youtube

Intro:

This blog is to explain the details of what is wrong with my computer, why I haven't uploaded, and when I hope to get back to uploading.  The short story is my computer is busted and I can't work on it until I get a new computer.  I'm hoping to get a new computer soon but I can't promise anything.  I might get some new projects going in the meantime.

 My computer Status

As you may know if you've been following me closely on Twitter or perhaps Google+.  I've had technical issues with my computer to say the least.  Basically my current computer, laptop is as good basically dead at this point.  Remember that screen flickering I occasionally complained about in a few of my videos?  Yeah, apparently that was the beginning of something much worst.  As I used it the "flickering" got worst, eventually the fan and video cards started acting and I'm pretty sure they're screwed.  Eventually, specifically two weeks ago, my computer got to the point the screen would go all crazy and then lock up and freeze.

Thankfully I backed all the videos I had into an external hard-drive and there are plenty of computers around this campus for me to upload and between them and my iPod I've been able to get by and do most, (but not all), the tasks I would normally use my computer for before.  So that was why I was able to finish up the week before going on hiatus with my Let's Plays.  Is it inconvenient?  Has it affected how able I'm able to get things done?  Yeah, but I've been getting by.

How I was and wasn't able to upload

As you may have guessed, I can't actually make videos despite having the work files needed for my videos backed up since none of the computers have Pinnacle Studio, which I used to edit.  So that is why I had to call the Let's Play hiatus until further notice.

My computer now

So after my computer broke I left it with the technical support services I have at school, for a week, I got it back and I thought they fixed everything except for the screen display.  So I take it over to some friends of mine and another week later it turns out nothing was fixed at all.  The screen is dead, I'm pretty sure the video and display cards are dead, and there's issues with the computer itself that are contributing to the screen issues, plus I'm still having the same problems I had before I started this whole mess.  It's basically unfix-able, well unless I want to pay more than what the computer is worth.

What now for my LPs and other videos?

Tomorrow I'm going to see what I can do in relation to getting a new computer, but I'm not certain if I do, even if I do chances are it'll take me a couple days just to become adjusted with it again and get all the programs I need on it to make videos again.  Once I do get that taken care of, it'll probably take another week or two to make enough videos for me to have enough of a video bulk to start my normal LP schedule again.

So what does that mean for you guys?  Well for the LP folks, in the best case, I'll be back on a schedule in another week or so, in the worst case, it could take me another month.  It depends on how tomorrow works out.  I might have to replay through a bit of Blaze Red since while I did back-up the files for that game, I think the save file is a bit before what I actually have recorded and backed up.  Golden Sun:  The Lost Age I've been working on the drawing for the next boss, and I'm proud of it, so that should get on track not far after Blaze Red does.  JackitK Tries will probably resume when Blaze Red does.  Other things I do like video responses to Ashhbearr will be uploaded when I have the time to edit and process them.   I'm really falling behind with those.

While it may take a bit, I do have an idea of something I can upload while I'm working on making videos.  While I don't have Pinnacle Studio, these lab computers do have other video editing software, and I've been working on making videos of my favorite old moments from my Pokemon XD Let's Play.  (If you've seen Chugaa Moments, it's like those except with my own Let's Play)

Making little moment videos was something I wanted to do for a while, so I'll probably upload those once I get a computer and can start working on videos again.  Heck, I might even make JackitK Tries if I can figure out how to work with this software.  I'm defiantly not doing it with the other videos since I was almost done with some of the video editing wise before my computer broke apart.

Speaking of things I've wanted to do for a while, I've been working on a special project I've wanted to do for a long time but never had the time to do.  I don't want to spoil the surprise, but it's something I'm hoping will appeal to both people who are a fan of my LP videos and of my comics.  I'll probably start uploading that this week, but not onto Youtube right away so you'll have to watch my Twitter (heck I'll even share the links on my Google+), for links if you want see it right away.  I'll try to work it into a Youtube video eventually, so that'll be something to look forward to.

Conclusion

Overall, I'm sorry I haven't been able to make videos, it's been really bugging me too.  It's been bugging me that I haven't been able to work on LPs more than it's been bugging you that I haven't uploaded anything.  Hopefully, things will get back to the normal schedule eventually and I'll try to get something up up by next week even if it is just the moment videos and that surprise project.  I don't even want to think about my forum activity until I get a new computer.  So I'll keep you guys up to date on how tomorrow works out.  Hopefully I can get back to working with my own computer by the weekend, if not, we'll just have to work out the details from there.  So stay in touch with my Twitter or even just Google+ if you want to know when I'm getting back completely.
